TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Booking and Lessons

Provisional Licence: Pupils must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and present it (and a DVSA check code) to the instructor on or before the first lesson.
Fitness to Drive: Pupils must be legally fit to drive, including meeting the DVSA eyesight requirement (reading a standard UK number plate from 20.5 metres) and must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Lesson Duration: Standard lessons are 1 hour or 1.5 hours, with the starting and ending location to be agreed at least 24hrs in advance.

2. Payments and Block Bookings

Payment Terms: All lessons must be paid for by bank transfer in advance or with cash on the day of the lesson, as agreed with the instructor.
Block Bookings: Prepaid block bookings must be used within 6 months of the initial payment date. Refunds on unused block bookings will be subject to any incurred administration fee.

3. Cancellation Policy

Notice Required: Both parties must give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson.
Late Cancellations: If the pupil provides less than 24 hours notice, the full lesson fee will be charged.
Instructor Cancellations: If your instructor must cancel due to illness, mechanical breakdown, or adverse weather, the lesson will be rescheduled at no additional cost.

4. Practical Driving Tests

Booking: Driving tests must be agreed upon with your instructor to ensure both the tuition vehicle and the pupil are ready.
Instructor’s Right to Refuse: Your instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of their vehicle for a driving test if the pupil's driving standard is deemed unsafe or below the required DVSA standard. Any decision will be communicated to the pupil in sufficient time to defer the test.
Test Cancellations: The instructor is not responsible for any test cancellations or fees incurred by the DVSA.
Vehicle Damage: Any damage caused to the instructor’s vehicle during a test or due to driver negligence may result in repair costs or insurance excess claims being paid by the pupil.

5. Instructor Obligations

The safety of the pupil and other road users is the priority for the instructor.
The instructor will provide a fully roadworthy, insured, and dual-controlled vehicle.
The instructor will abide by the DVSA Code of Practice and conduct all lessons in a professional, courteous manner.

6. Personal Data and GDPR

The instructor will securely hold and process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR, using it solely for booking lessons and DVSA test arrangements.
